Why Web Accessibility is Important

I learned why web accessibility is important and how small changes can make a website easier for more people to use. This is something I want to pay more attention to when building a website in the future.

I learned that web accessibility matters because everyone should be able to use a website without struggling to read or navigate it. Before this lesson, I honestly didn’t think much about all of the different accessibility needs people can have. Adding UserWay showed me that even small changes can make a website easier for more people to use. It definitely something Ill pay more attention to when I make websites in the future.

Some accessibility features I learned about are the following: Alt text for images, so people using screen readers can understand what the image is showing. Captions for videos so people can still understand them without hearing the audio. Keyboard navigation for people who may not be able to use a mouse. Good color contrast so the text is easier to see and read. And clear headings and easy navigation so people can find what they are looking for without getting confused.
